We are currently seeking an experienced Production Floor Manager to join our manufacturing team in Roscommon.
Production Floor Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and capable leader to take full responsibility for our factory floor operations – from machining and assembly to final dispatch. This is a key leadership role focused on improving quality, output, and team performance across all aspects of our kitchen production process.
Job Description –
Manufacturing
- Ensure machine shop runs at maximum output with zero downtime
- Apply lean principles to improve flow and reduce waste
- Oversee finishing room output to align with production schedules
- Implement and manage quality control systems for all panels and components
Assembly
- Lead a team of 10–15 kitchen assemblers
- Ensure correct jobs are assembled in the correct sequence
- Uphold quality and completeness of every kitchen before dispatch
- Maintain clean, safe, organised work areas
- Introduce improvements in floor layout, tooling and methods
- Manage hiring, training, and performance of team
- Minimise overtime by managing capacity planning
Logistics
- Work with logistics supervisor to ensure kitchens are built in time for delivery
- Plan work at least one week in advance to allow for issue resolution
- Support smooth and efficient loading, early deliveries, and clean returns
Reworks and Coordination
- Minimise and manage any reworks across machining, assembly and delivery
- Work closely with Fitting Supervisor to ensure alignment between workshop and site
- Drive accountability and ownership for defects at source
General Leadership
- Be the main point of contact on the floor for management
- Lead by delegation — not by doing — creating a strong and independent floor team
- Maintain tidy and functional yards, floor space, and equipment use
Successful applicant will report directly to senior management
Person Specification & Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing workshop or production floors (kitchens, joinery, furniture)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience applying lean manufacturing techniques
- Practical understanding of kitchen manufacture and fitting
- Good communicator with floor staff and senior management
- IT literacy
- ERP integration experience
- Advantage: experience with CNC, edgers, spray rooms
Location:
Based at our manufacturing plants in Ballyboughan Business Park, Roscommon (F42 RC85).
Salary: €60,000 – €70,000 (In line with experience and qualifications)
