Frequently asked questions
Yes. All design consultations at Mark Lohan Kitchens are complimentary and without obligation. Our goal is to help you explore possibilities for your home, understand what is achievable within your budget, and receive expert guidance before making any decisions.
Typically, clients attend three to four design consultations as layouts, finishes, storage solutions, appliances, and design details are refined. However, every project is different. We take the time to get your kitchen right, and all design consultations remain complimentary throughout the design process.
Your initial design consultation typically lasts approximately 90 minutes, allowing your designer the time to understand your project, lifestyle, design preferences, and budget in detail.
More than simply discussing cabinetry and colours, this consultation is an opportunity to benefit from professional design expertise, explore ideas, and receive guidance tailored specifically to your home.
As part of your appointment, your designer will walk you through our showroom displays, using real kitchens to help bring ideas to life. Whether you're deciding between contemporary, classic, or in-frame styles, comparing storage solutions, exploring appliance options, or choosing colours and finishes, your designer will help you understand what works best for your home, lifestyle, and budget.
For many homeowners, this first consultation provides valuable clarity and confidence, helping turn ideas into a clear plan before any design work begins.
At Mark Lohan Kitchens, we design kitchens for a wide range of homes, styles, and budgets.
Most clients invested between €10,000–€15,000 in their MLK kitchen during 2025, with kitchens starting from approximately €7,000.
The final cost of your kitchen will depend on factors such as the size of the space, cabinetry specification, storage solutions, worktops, appliances, and overall project requirements.
During your consultation, your designer will take the time to understand your priorities, requirements, and budget. At your second (follow-up) appointment, you'll receive a detailed quotation and full 3D design presentation, giving you complete visibility of your design, appliance recommendations, and investment before making any decisions.
Where appropriate, your designer can also present alternative design and specification options, helping you maximise your budget while achieving the best possible outcome for your home.
One of the biggest advantages of visiting a showroom is the ability to experience kitchen designs at full scale.
Our Galway and Roscommon showrooms feature over 35 full-size kitchen displays, allowing you to explore different styles, layouts, storage solutions, appliances, colours, finishes, and worktop options in person.
More importantly, your designer will use these displays to help bring ideas to life, explain design concepts, and guide you through the options available. Many homeowners find that seeing ideas in a showroom setting helps them better visualise their own space, avoid costly mistakes, and make more confident design decisions before investing in a new kitchen.
Absolutely. You're welcome to visit our Galway or Roscommon showroom during opening hours to browse our displays and gather inspiration. No appointment is required to visit our showrooms.
However, if you're ready to discuss your project in detail, we recommend booking a complimentary design consultation so you can meet one-to-one with a designer and receive advice tailored specifically to your home, lifestyle, and budget.
No. Many clients visit us at the early stages of their project, so don't worry if you don't have everything prepared.
If available, bringing along house plans, measurements, inspiration images, Pinterest boards, or appliance wish lists can help your designer better understand your ideas and requirements.
Most importantly, bring your ideas. Your designer will guide you through the rest and advise on any information needed as your project progresses.
