Kitchen Highlights
Modern Shaker Design
The Lyrath Collection features a refined 35mm slim-shaker profile, bringing a contemporary edge to traditional shaker design. The narrower frame creates cleaner lines while retaining the warmth and character of a shaker kitchen.

A Statement Cooking Zone
The Rangemaster cooker forms the centrepiece of the design, framed by a contemporary box canopy, floating Halifax Oak shelf, and full-height Calacatta Heritage quartz splashback. Together, these elements create a striking focal point that anchors the entire room.
Kitchen Cabinets Designed to Reach the Ceiling
With a ceiling height of 2540mm, the kitchen was designed using 2480mm cabinetry, incorporating top-box cabinets and a seamless scribed ceiling finish. Designed specifically for the space, this full-height approach maximises storage while creating a stronger sense of scale and proportion throughout the kitchen.

A Clean, Uninterrupted Island Design
Finished in Hunter Green, the island provides a striking contrast to the surrounding cabinetry. An undermounted sink, antique brass Quooker tap, waterfall edge, and the absence of drainer grooves preserve the clean lines of the quartz while keeping the island practical for everyday use.

Quality Assured
"From our very first meeting with John, we felt confident that our vision was understood. Symmetry and balance were incredibly important to us, and the design centred around the Rangemaster cooker exceeded everything we had hoped for. Every detail feels considered, from the cabinetry and storage to the island and feature cooking zone. The kitchen works perfectly for our family, and the quality of the finished result is exceptional. We are absolutely delighted and would highly recommend Mark Lohan Kitchens." - Sharyn, Co. Galway

Frequently asked questions
Absolutely. While range cookers are often associated with more traditional kitchens, they can work exceptionally well in modern kitchen designs when incorporated thoughtfully. The key is creating a design that balances the character of the cooker with clean lines, contemporary materials, and carefully considered proportions.
In this modern shaker kitchen, the Rangemaster cooker became the starting point for the design. A contemporary box canopy, floating Halifax Oak shelf, and full-height Calacatta Heritage quartz splashback were used to create a striking focal point. The result demonstrates that a range cooker can feel every bit as modern as built-in ovens when it is integrated into the overall design from the outset.
Symmetry is one of the most effective ways to create a kitchen that feels balanced, calm, and visually pleasing. It helps establish order within a space and naturally draws the eye towards key design features.
For this project, the Rangemaster cooker was positioned at the centre of the design, with matching extra-tall cabinetry and storage arranged on either side. This creates a strong focal point while helping the kitchen feel more spacious, cohesive, and timeless.
The best splashback is one that balances practicality with visual impact. While tiled splashbacks remain popular, many homeowners are now choosing full-height quartz surfaces because they create a seamless appearance, eliminate grout lines, and are significantly easier to clean and maintain.
In this kitchen, Calacatta Heritage quartz was carried from the worktops up behind the Rangemaster cooker to create a full-height splashback. Beyond protecting the wall, it transforms the cooking area into a design feature and helps create the uninterrupted look often associated with luxury kitchen design.
A kitchen island often becomes the focal point of the room, so the materials and detailing used can have a significant impact on the overall feel of the space. Features such as waterfall worktops, premium stone surfaces, bevel-edge profiles, concealed drainage, and carefully considered proportions are often what distinguish a bespoke kitchen island from a standard design.
In this kitchen, the Hunter Green island is topped with Calacatta Heritage quartz featuring a waterfall edge and bevel profile. The absence of drainer grooves also helps preserve the clean, uninterrupted surface, allowing the island to function as both a practical workspace and a standout design feature.
For many homeowners, a walk-in pantry is one of the most valuable additions to a modern kitchen. It provides dedicated storage for food, small appliances, entertaining essentials, and everyday household items while helping keep the main kitchen organised and clutter free.
One of the biggest benefits of a pantry is that it allows the kitchen itself to remain focused on cooking, dining, and socialising rather than storage. In this home, the walk-in pantry works alongside a concealed breakfast station to reduce visual clutter and support the clean aesthetic of the overall design.
In most cases, yes. Extending cabinetry to the ceiling creates additional storage, eliminates dust traps above cabinets, and allows the kitchen to feel more tailored to the room.
With a ceiling height of 2540mm, this kitchen was designed using 2480mm cabinetry, top-box cabinets, and a seamless scribed ceiling finish. The result is a kitchen that makes full use of the available height while achieving a seamless floor-to-ceiling finish that simply isn't possible with standard-sized cabinetry.
