In this kitchen, Dekton Laurent by Cosentino was chosen not only for its durability but also for its dramatic appearance. Used across the feature splashback and statement 50mm mitred island, it creates a luxurious focal point while delivering outstanding everyday performance.

Dekton Laurent stands apart because of its rich dark brown surface and striking gold veining, creating a level of depth and visual impact rarely found in contemporary worktop materials. Its matt finish adds warmth and sophistication while avoiding the reflective appearance often associated with polished surfaces.

In this kitchen, Dekton Laurent was used to create a seamless connection between the splashback, island, and entertaining area, helping establish a strong and cohesive design language throughout the space.

A one-wall kitchen with island can be an excellent solution for open-plan homes. By concentrating the main cabinetry along a single wall, the layout creates a sense of openness while allowing the island to become the focal point of the room.

In this design, the one-wall layout is complemented by a generous 2.7-metre island featuring a recessed Bora M Pure hob, storage to both sides, and extensive preparation space. Combined with the concealed pantry, the layout delivers exceptional functionality while maintaining clean architectural lines.

A slim shaker kitchen takes the timeless character of traditional shaker cabinetry and refines it for contemporary living. Narrower frame profiles create cleaner lines, giving the kitchen a more modern and architectural appearance while retaining the warmth associated with shaker design.

The Lyrath Collection featured in this project incorporates a refined 35mm slim-shaker frame, complemented by smoked glass display cabinets and carefully layered materials. The result is a kitchen that feels both sophisticated and timeless.

The most successful modern kitchens focus on integrating storage into the overall design rather than simply adding more cabinets. Features such as concealed pantries, taller cabinetry, and multifunctional islands can dramatically increase storage while maintaining a clean and uncluttered appearance.

This kitchen uses a concealed walk-in pantry, extra-tall cabinetry, and storage integrated into both sides of the island to maximise capacity. The result is a kitchen that feels calm and spacious while accommodating far more storage than first meets the eye.

Both approaches can work well, but the decision often depends on the overall design aesthetic. Visible pantries can become a feature in their own right, while concealed pantries help maintain clean lines and a more architectural appearance.

For this project, the pantry was intentionally hidden behind cabinetry that appears continuous from the main kitchen. This approach allows everyday essentials to remain easily accessible while preserving the calm, uncluttered look that was central to the design.
